We keep following the San-yo railway line and stopped in Kobe for a few days, famous for its beef and the 1995 earthquake which killed 6,000 people. Way less touristic than Kyoto, the city seems more like a 'normal' japanese city, where signs and menus are not translated into english! We managed to see the main attractions (Harborland, City Museum, View from the top of the city hall, Chinatown..), under the rain. We also managed to try some Kobe beef meat, which definitely has a different taste but doesn't worth the trip just for it! We also visited Himeji castle, located next to Kobe, which is a 7-storeys wooden building, apprentely shown in every medieval japanese movie...
